  • What services does Planted provide?
We specialise in contract planting and erosion control, including the supply and installation of native tubestock, jute matting, coir logs, jute mesh, and more. Our work spans civil projects, landscaping, WSUD installations, riparian zones, and bushland rehabilitation.
  • Do you offer both supply and installation?
Yes. We can provide supply-only of erosion control products and plants, or a full-service install - including ground preparation, pegging, planting, and site clean-up. Most of our clients engage us for end-to-end delivery.
  • Where do you work?
We currently operate in New South Wales, working with civil contractors, councils, landscapers, and developers on large-scale planting and restoration projects.
  • What’s your typical project size?
We specialise in large-scale projects, often involving 5,000 to 100,000+ plants, 100’s of metres of coir logs, or thousands of square metres of jute matting. That said, we also provide our services to smaller erosion control & planting installs.
  • What methods of planting do you use?
We use both petrol-powered augers and manual speed spades, depending on site conditions. Augers are ideal for compacted or clay soils and allow for consistent hole depth and root establishment. Speed spades are used in looser soils or where access is tight. Our crews are trained to assess conditions and switch between methods as needed.
  • Do auger-dug holes harm plant growth?
No. In fact, auger holes - when done properly - loosen the surrounding soil, allowing better root spread and water infiltration. In many of the compacted or clay-heavy sites we work on, augers offer better results than manual digging.
  • What’s involved in jute matting installation?
Every site is different - so our jute matting installations always begin with a detailed assessment. We look at ground conditions, slope angles, access, and water flow direction to determine how the material should be laid and what type of matting or mesh is appropriate. Once we’ve assessed the site, we: - Deliver the correct jute product to site - whether that’s heavy-duty jute matting for slopes and batters, pre-slit jute for planting over, or jute mesh for applications like rain gardens where water needs to drain through the surface without disturbing the substrate. - Install according to the site plan and best-practice methods, laying the jute downslope, overlapping appropriately, and shaping around drains, rocks, or hard edges as needed. - Secure the matting with pins sized to match the specific ground conditions (clay, sand, loam) and the requirements of the client’s erosion control specs. This ensures the jute stays in place through wind, rain, and foot traffic during planting. - Coordinate planting with the jute type: For pre-slit jute, we plant through pre-cut holes after the mat is pinned down. For jute mesh, we install the mesh first, then plant directly through it - ideal for rain gardens, infiltration zones, or sandy surfaces where drainage is key. The end result? A clean, durable, fully biodegradable solution that stabilises ground, supports plant establishment, and meets compliance for erosion control.
  • What are coir logs used for?
Coir logs are used for erosion control along creek lines, swales, drainage points, and slopes. They act as a physical barrier to slow water flow, stabilise soil, and allow vegetation to establish behind them. We trench and peg them into position for secure anchoring.
  • What’s the difference between jute matting and jute mesh?
Jute matting is a dense, felt-like fabric used on slopes and disturbed soil for erosion control and planting support. Jute mesh is an open-weave product, often used over sand in rain gardens or infiltration zones. It allows water to pass freely while protecting the surface during planting.
  • Can you work to tight deadlines or within construction programs?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with site managers and project leads to deliver on program. We understand staging, weather delays, and compliance hold points - and we work fast without compromising quality.
  • Can you provide documentation for compliance?
Absolutely. We can provide planting logs, product specs, photo records, and site reports where required—helping you meet council, EPA, or WSUD conditions with confidence.
